Bulveye’s 13th Company

My Tale of… force will initially begin as part of the supporting force dispatched to Antimon following the defeat of the Dark Eldar and the consequent battles for complience.

The force will begin as fast insertion utilising transports and transported support, this will then develop into a heavier assault force as the Greybeards prepare for translation to Prospero following Antimon returning to the imperial fold.

I now have the elements of the force ready for building.

As part of this project I will also be making generic combat squads of armour types 2 (Crusade) to 6 (Corvus). I’m currently waiting for forgeworld resins to complete Mk4 and Mk’s 2&3.

These will then form the backbone of my infantry models, with characters being converted out of the generic base. Squads will have mixed armour variants to make then visually exciting and a little more intereting to paint.

Initially the force looks like this;

Dreadnought with twin-linked heavy bolters and a heavy flamer + Drop Pod (storm bolter)

8 Bloodclaws + Drop Pod (storm bolter)

8 Bloodclaws + Drop pod (storm bolter)

For ease all 16 of the Bloodclaws will be equipped with MK5 (Heresy) armour although this is not technically correct as MK5 was issued at the start of the heresy, ideally the armour should be either Iron or Maximus (Mk3/Mk4) in terms of the background. If FW come through in the next week then the Bloodclaws will be armoured in the correct type - failing that Mk5 will have to do.

So far I’ve played 2 games with the force and scored 1 win and 1 draw, so at the moment I intend no changes to the force although horde armies may make me re-think this

So another 2 games under my belt another win and another draw - these guys look promising…especially against Eldar and Space Marines - two armies I thought would pose the most issues in terms of speed and fire power.

Slow progress so far with the build and paint of these guys but hopefully now work will be a little less mental over the next 2 weeks - and the paint scheme being pretty simple, I can hopefully nail my month 1 quota……with a little luck.

Mk5 - Heresy ArmourMk4 - Maximus ArmourMk3 - Iron Armour

And my HQ choice a mighty Venerable Dreadnought…

  8. Magnus says:

    In terms of objective I’m either goning to go in one of two ways;
    A felled dreadnought amidst a pile of his enemies skulls
    A thousand sons bastion - think white pyramid on the new battlebunker with lots of gold bling and antenna
